❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Will HELLP happen again?
Yes, recurrence is possible — especially with early or severe onset. All future pregnancies should be treated as high-risk. Choose a provider familiar with HELLP and preeclampsia.
When should I follow up?
Schedule a check-in within 1–2 weeks after discharge. Don’t wait if something feels wrong — listen to your body.
Can I try for another baby?
Yes. Many survivors go on to have healthy pregnancies. Preconception counseling with a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialist is highly recommended.
